It has been proven for a very long time that hypnosis is not a form of sleep, thanks to encephalograms (E.E.G.). Thanks to all the modern techniques of medical imaging investigation, we have been able to show that hypnosis is a state of altered consciousness between wakefulness and sleep, sometimes even beyond wakefulness. You can be in a state of hyper-arousal during the hypnotic state.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Hypnosis is not a state of sleep, unconsciousness or relaxation. On the contrary, like meditation, it is a state of intense alertness and over-focusing. Over-focussing enables brain functions that are normally inactive to be awakened through the action of memory and imagination. Under hypnosis, the brain travels on brain waves known as Theta waves (whereas wakefulness corresponds to Beta waves). These Theta waves are conducive to learning, creativity and problem-solving. Once access to our inner world has been facilitated, our imagination will enable us to transform old associations of ideas created by the subconscious.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">3<\/h2>\n<h4>How do we go about it?<\/h4>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">First, we use an attention-focusing technique that suits the patient. Once this has worked, we help the patient with hypnotic communication. There is a whole hypnotic grammar that enables the patient to gradually move from a voluntary, conscious mode of functioning to a natural, spontaneous mode of functioning where the usual willpower is no longer used and where non-voluntary modes of functioning are discovered, such as the power of mental imagery on the body.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">4<\/h2>\n<h4>Est ce que l&#8217;on est conscient lorsqu&#8217; on est en \u00e9tat d&#8217;hypnose ?<\/h4>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Oui, l\u2019hypnose n\u2019est pas du sommeil. En effet, il s\u2019agit d\u2019un \u00e9tat de conscience modifi\u00e9, de concentration \u00e9veill\u00e9e, que chacun est capable d\u2019atteindre de mani\u00e8re naturelle. En hypnose, on d\u00e9veloppe une \u00ab conscience parall\u00e8le \u00bb, \u00e0 la conscience d&#8217;\u00e9veil.
